Te Hauora o Ngāti Rārua is a Kaupapa Māori health service committed to providing the very best care to all whānau in our hapori (community] of Wairau who need our tautoko (support).

Mō te tūnga - About the role

Rongoā Māori is a traditional Māori healing practice grounded in tikanga Māori and Māori world views. It includes the use of herbal remedies as well as the incorporation of physical and spiritual therapies. It is a vital aspect to tangata Māori as it encourages whānau, hapū and iwi to achieve mana motuhake (self-autonomy), rangatiratanga (self-determination) and mana. 

This role is 32 hours per week, worked Monday - Thursday inclusive.

He kōrero mōu - About you

The successful applicant for this role is expected to have:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Rongoā Practitioner
  • Completed a Certificate in Rongoā [Level 4] or prepared to work towards the same
  • Working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi with a strong commitment and passion to enhancing the hauora of whānau Māori accessing our service
  • A full driver’s licence
  • Keyboard and computing skills at a competent level, including working in the electronic client database that is used by the team
