A key objective for the fund is to break down barriers to participation, provide financial support for tamariki and rangatahi in the context of whānau who are experiencing financial hardship and missing out on physical activity opportunities. The funding will be facilitated through two existing funding mechanisms : RUIA fund and Puna funding.  <br> <br>The Contracts Analyst – Te Kiwai is responsible for providing data administration, contract management, project coordination and general administrative tasks to enable to  organisation to tell an accurate and compelling story of Whānau Ora in the context of Te Kīwai Fund.</p><p>The Contracts Analyst  - Te Kiwai - will help maintain databases and communicate with entities around data and reporting. It will give individuals and workplaces increased confidence to support their continuing engagement with the iwi of Te Tauihu.<br> <br>On successful completion of this course learners will be able to:</p><ul><li>Discuss the key principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and The Treaty of Waitangi, and how they relate to Te Tauihu</li><li>Explain early Aotearoa/New Zealand history, inclusive of both Māori and non-Māori viewpoints</li><li>Identify the iwi of Te Tauihu o Te Waka a Māui</li></ul><p>The course is 40 hours long and can be undertaken in any of the following ways:</p><ul><li>Face to face - 40 hours delivered face to face in various locations throughout the region, 2 hours per week</li><li>Blended - 20 hours face to face in various locations throughout the region, 1 hour face to face and 1 hour online per week</li><li>Online - 40 hours online undertaken at your own pace and the comfort of your own home or office.</li></ul><h2 id="te-reo-m-ori-me-ng-tikanga-o-te-tauihu">Te Reo Māori me ngā Tikanga o Te Tauihu</h2><p><br>This course will introduce te reo me ona tikanga Māori within the context of Te Tau ihu o te Waka a Maui (Top of the South Island of New Zealand). Together with the scholarships we offer, it provides options for people to re-train or upskill, which is incredibly important in the time of Covid-19.</p><p>“In addition, our iwi businesses can provide employment opportunities to NMIT students and graduates – meaning local people can get local jobs.”</p><p>The agreement means<strong> </strong>Ngāti Rārua and NMIT will work together to:</p><ul><li>Promote Ngāti Rārua and their businesses to NMIT students who align with the iwi, kaupapa and or businesses of Ngāti Rārua</li><li>Promote tertiary education at NMIT to iwi, hapū, whānau,staff and haporiof Ngāti Rārua</li><li>Drive increased participation in Ngāti Rārua scholarships and in tertiary education at NMIT<br></li></ul><p>Mr Graham said the agreement was long term, but had flexibility. “However the world may change, good education leads to meaningful work, I’m delighted NMIT and Ngāti Rārua can work together to ensure we make the most of our local talent and our opportunities.”</p><p><strong><em>E ai ki ngaa korero e tika ana, kia atawhai i te tangata i muri i au, kia pai te noho.</em></strong></p><p>NMIT Chief Executive Officer Wayne Jackson said the agreement strengthened the institution’s commitment to the local community.</p><p>“More than ever we need strong links between community, education and employment. The last step will be identifying the first 5 homes to undergo repairs.
