Iwi monitors perform a vital role representing Ngāti Rārua when construction or development projects engage in earthworks. Should any items of interest be found, iwi monitors help protect the mauri and keep the item safe while further arrangements are made.

Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua is wanting to extend capacity and capability for iwi monitor mahi across the rohe.

We need your support for an increasing demand for this mahi.

If you or any of your whānau would like to be involved, please send us an expression of interest – just an email to let us know you might be interested and available either to do the work, or to support those who are interested.

Enquiries are being made in respect of training to cover the work that happens on site and the cultural capacity needed for those who wish to be involved. Operational, administration and remuneration matters will be further discussed.
