This year we’ll host our second Te Umu Kohukohu Whetū ki Wairau at 44 Rārangi Road on Monday 10 July. It will be a more intimate event than last year, incorporating our traditional ceremony to:

  • Remember the past and those who have passed
  • Offer food to the stars
  • Celebrate the present, and look to the future

Two online wānanga will take place before the event.

  • Kaikarakia and Kaikaranga wānanga Wednesday 28 June, 6 to 7:30
Aimed at those whānau who wish to play a part in the ceremony and this group will also be invited to wānanga under Te Tātoru o Wairau to grow capacity and capability for similar kaupapa.
  • Matariki Wānanga - Monday 3 July, 6 to 8 PM
Aimed at whānau wanting a general understanding of Matariki and our traditions and processes associated with it.

More details and a registration form will be made available soon. In the meantime if you are interested in attending, please register / RSVP  using the online form.
