The Saturday workshops are designed to engage taiohi/rangatahi in digital fields – there also robot battles and an e-sports tournament as well!
There are 10 Festival scholarships available to attend.

About the event
Te Rangapikikōtuku/EMPOWER Festival in Nelson is a dynamic, two-day event designed for youth aged 13-24!
Engage in hands-on workshops, face off in Battle Bots, and compete in an E-Sports LAN tournament with a professional caster.
Connect with industry leaders, explore career opportunities, and unleash your creativity in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Event programme
Saturday:
$50 per attendee to attend for Saturday
- up to 3x workshops 9am - 3pm
- Hands-on digital workshops (Drones, VEX, PC builds, Sound Engineering, Animation, Entrepreneurship, Coding and more)
- An engaging Industry Zone.
- Esports Tournament
- FREE 'friendly' Rocket League Tournament at Card Merchant Nelson 6pm - 9pm
Sunday:
- Esports Tournament - FREE - VALORANT (5 per team - only 8 teams!) at The Suter 9am - 5pm
- Battle Bots $50 team (4-6 per team) 9am - 3pm
- Robocup Jr - FREE - 9am - 3pm
