Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua warmly acknowledges and congratulates Rachel Taulelei, MNZM, and Lorraine Eade on their recognition in the 2025 New Year Honours.
These honours reflect decades of dedicated service, leadership and commitment to Māori, governance, business and community wellbeing.
Rachel Taulelei, MNZM, has been recognised for services to business, Māori and governance with the honour Companion to the New Zealand Order of Merit. Rachel’s leadership across Māori economic development, corporate governance and kaupapa Māori initiatives has had a lasting and national impact. Rachel’s contribution continues to open pathways for Māori enterprise and leadership at the highest levels.
Lorraine Eade has been recognised for services to Māori, governance and the community with the honour Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Lorraine’s lifelong commitment to whānau, hapū and iwi, combined with her strong governance leadership and community advocacy, has strengthened organisations and uplifted people. Her service reflects quiet determination, integrity and focus on outcomes for Māori communities.
