Pop-up measles clinic at Whakatū Marae

Visit the marae this Thursday to check your measles vaccination status

Pop-up measles clinic at Whakatū Marae

Due to our current measles outbreak Te Piki Oranga is holding a pop-in clinic at Whakatu Marae for the kaimahi of our Te Tauihu Iwi.

  • Thursday 11 December
  • 12:00 to 3:30pm

They are able to check your MMR status if you are unsure if you have had two MMR vaccines, and will have vaccines available.

Close Contacts must isolate

It is important for whānau to know that if you are considered a contact of a measles case and cannot prove immune status or are considered only partly immune/protected because you have only had one measles vaccine, then you may need to quarantine as a measles contact means staying at home and not going out for a minimum of 7 days and sometimes longer.

Knowing your immune status in advance and getting immunised if you need to will be important to protect yourself and your whānau, and will also ensure workforce capacity is not at risk as a result of staff needing to quarantine.

If you need an MMR vaccine, it takes about two weeks to become effective so getting this now is important.
