Ministry staff, educators visit Te Heke Whakangā

Recently a group from the Ministry for Social Development came to Te Heke Whakangā, and this week a group of early childhood educators who were staying at Te Āwhina Marae were also given a guided tour.

A massive ngā mihi nui to all the volunteers who help us run the exhibition alongside the museum staff.

Two in particular, Ropata Stephens and Rima Piggott, have given a great deal of time and knowledge to agencies and schools who have visited to learn more about Ngāti Rārua. Together they have guided more than 600 visitors through. A number of other agencies have visited, including Te Papa Tongarewa manager iwi development Paora Tibble.

We encourage all whānau to make time to visit and view the information and taonga on display at the Motueka District Museum before it finishes on 31 July.
