Navigation project wins science award

This year's Ngāti Rarua Te Ao Māori Award has been awarded to Te Hoiere Hemi from Nelson Intermediate, for his project Māori Star Navigation.

Te Hoiere was presented his award last evening at Te Hāpai Mauri Scitech Expo award ceremony held at Pūtangitangi Greenmeadows Centre.

The judges said they appreciated the incredible amount of work that went into this project. They loved the fantastic variety of art techniques and were impressed with the logbook documentary. One judge said it was the best diorama they had ever seen. Fantastic work!

Te Hoiere was supported by 14 of his whānau at the awards.
