Sharing matāuranga for te taiao

Last week Ngāti Rārua whānau from Motueka and several Rūnanga kaimahi shared matāuranga on wāhi tāpu and significant sites with trainee DOC rangers as part of their training with NMIT. The programme was put together by Ropata Stephens.

Sharing our history is part of our ongoing mahi for te taiao. It helps to develop relationships with others who are caring for te taiao and ensures the next generation have awareness and understanding of matters of importance to Ngāti Rārua.

The rōpu visited Te Āwhina Marae, Te Puna o Riuwaka, Puketāwai, Kākā Pā, Whakapaetūarā, and Mārahau.
