Whakatuwhera o ‘Te Whare Puiaki’
Ko te mauri o te whare, ko te oranga o te iwi.
In October 2025, Te Whatu Ora and iwi came together to lay the kohatu mauri for the new Allied Health Equipment Store at Wairau Hospital.
This moment acknowledged the beginning of a space that would support the wellbeing of our community. Today, with the project now complete, we returned for the Whakatuwhera o ‘Te Whare Puiaki’.
Te Whare Puiaki (Allied Health Equipment Store) reflects abundance and manaaki - a place that holds and provides the resources needed to care for others.
This important facility will support the delivery of essential equipment and services, helping meet the growing needs of our community and the region’s ageing population.
