Mauri Ora around the rohe

Friday December 8  was a busy day for the Mauri Ora team!  

Ngāti Rārua representatives accompanied Ngāti Tama and Te Atiawa for a blessing at Te Kura o Aorere (Collingwood Area School) at dawn, along with students and teachers and the wider school community.  

The waharoa, play centre pou, the Pā Harakeke and the new main teaching block were all blessed. The modern and flexible facilities are wonderful new additions.  

Later there was a blessing at Te Waikoropupū to acknowledge the implementation of the Water Conservation Order for the springs, the highest level of environmental protection available.   

The crew then headed off to our final Kia Pia Te Ro wānanga in Rotoiti.
